Symphony Cruise

 

The Annual Symphony Cruise - June 17, 2017

The Symphony Cruise brings hundreds of people to Powell River from the Comox Valley to attend a matinee performance by the PRISMA Festival Orchestra. The 2017 Cruise is one you won't want to miss, featuring Beethoven's Overture Fidelio, Strauss's 4 Last Songs with soprano Lauren Margison, and Rachmaninoff's Symphony No. 2. 

Onboard entertainment by Take 5 jazz group, Ceilish fiddlers, and concertmaster of the Strathcona Symphony Orchestra.

Itinerary:

  • -Leave Little River at 10:00 AM, arrive in Powell River at 11:30 AM. Enjoy on-board musical entertainment on BC Ferries' brand new vessel.
  • -Travel by complimentary shuttle to the concert venue and back to the ferry after the concert.
  • -Leave Westview Terminal at 5:15 PM (BC Ferries has added this sailing especially for the Symphony Cruise), arrive in Comox at 6:45 PM.

Notes:

  • -The ferry from Comox leaves Little River terminal at 10:00 AM on the day of the concert. You will purchase your ticket for passage at the ferry terminal and pay the regular cost. 
  • -It is recommended to get to the terminal well in advance of the sailing, as other Symphony Cruise passengers will also be purchasing their ferry tickets. 
  • -If you are going back to the Island after the concert, the return ferry is at 5:15 PM. BC Ferries has added this sailing especially for the Symphony Cruise.
  • -Check out this List of Powell River Restaurants for things to do before the matinee concert begins at 1:30 pm.
