The Symphony Cruise brings hundreds of people to Powell River from the Comox Valley to attend a matinee performance by the PRISMA Festival Orchestra on Saturday, June 23. The 2018 Cruise is one you won't want to miss, featuring a tribute to "Diaghilev and the Ballets Russes" featuring R. Strauss' Josephs Legende (Symphonic Fragment), Stravinsky's Le Sacre du Printemps (The Rite of Spring) and the winners of the Concerto Competition, Final Round.

Onboard entertainment provided by Ceilish, Powell River's homegrown youth fiddle group.



PLEASE NOTE: the deadline for package orders was June 8, as specified on our website and in the Comox Valley Record. Individual tickets are still available for the matinée concert and can be purchased online. (The $25 individual ticket includes the concert only and attendees will be responsible for their own meals and transportation.)

•          Return Walk On Ferry Ticket: from Little River Comox (departs 9:55) to Westview Powell River (returns 5:15)

•          Ground Transportation: from the ferry dock to the concert and back to the ferry dock

•          Ocean Wise Lois Lake Steelhead Lunch at the theatre (another main & vegetarian option will be available)

•          A Ticket to the Matinee Concert - 1:30 PM, Saturday June 23 at Evergreen Theatre

For groups, PRISMA will be happy to work with the group’s organizer on these packages. Your organizer can let us know how many of each package your group is interested in attending.  We assign your seats, bill you once for all the tickets and send all the tickets (Including lunch ticket, ferry vouchers and concert tickets) to one central contact for distribution. This is a popular and enjoyable package for those who are looking for an exciting and interesting day trip.

PRISMA 2018 Symphony Cruise

In partnership with BC Ferries and Balfe Somers Wealth Management of RBC Dominion Securities, PRISMA presents the Symphony Cruise.

 

Welcome to our Vancouver Island neighbours who are crossing the Salish Sea today.  Thank you for joining us for PRISMA’s Symphony Cruise Matinée presenting:



“Diaghilev and the Ballets Russes”  

1:30 PM – Evergreen Theatre

 

 

You boarded the 10:05 sailing out of Little River (Comox) and will be arriving at Westview (Powell River) Terminal at 11:30.

 

Please come and see PRISMA volunteers stationed on board in the back lounge, if you have questions. We have maps available of 

Marine Avenue (great shopping and dining options) and PRISMA souvenir programs.

BUSES: 

*Please be patient with boarding buses. We will bring you to the concert on time.

 

GETTING TO THE CONCERT ON TIME:

If you are attending lunch with us at the Evergreen Theatre, please board one of two school buses waiting for you at the terminal so we can get you to lunch. If you have mobility issues you will be directed to a city bus. Lunch starts at noon. If you are not on the first load, buses will return to pick you up.

If you choose to dine and walk on Marine Ave: Please board one of the other two city busses. These buses will drop you along Marine Ave at the restaurant where you want to dine. To get to the complex after your lunch please wait at any one of the bus stops along the side of the street away from the water. PRISMA busses will circle Marine Ave three times between 12:30 and 1 pm to pick you up and take you to the concert.

If you are heading straight up to the theatre, but not having lunch with us: Please wait until those going to lunch have boarded. We will have buses to take you to the theatre in plenty of time too.

 

If you have not pre-ordered the lunch option at the venue, there are some fine establishments on Marine Avenue which will be open to serve you. Please call ahead to see if there is room.

AFTER THE CONCERT:

• Your ferry for Little River (Comox) leaves the Westview Terminal at 5:15.

Our buses will be waiting for you outside the theatre after the concert. If you don’t board the first buses leaving they will be back to pick you up for the next run. Busses will run until all patrons are delivered to Westview terminal.

• Another option WALKING TO THE TERMINAL: If you want to take an hour-ish walk to the terminal through the woods and along the water, volunteers will Brian and Dona will meet you outside the theatre complex, on the lower level outside of where we had lunch.
