Music Director - Arthur Arnold

Arthur Arnold is Music Director of the Moscow Symphony Orchestra and a guest conductor at many well known European, Asian and North American orchestras. He has been described as “one of the rare conductors who not only possesses a flawless technique, but also inspires the orchestra, giving the individual musicians creative freedom”.



Mr. Arnold has established a reputation for sincere musical interpretations, dynamic performances and the ability to communicate with audiences. In his native Holland, he conducted the Netherlands Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Arnhem Philharmonic Orchestra, North Netherlands Orchestra, Holland Symfonia, Rotterdam Philharmonic, Opera Minora and the Nieuw Ensemble.

Development Officer - Rachel Rocco

Rachel began work in the music industry in the 80’s on a summer student grant with the Vancouver Folk Music Festival. Since then she spent many years bringing wide ranging cultural events to life in many parts of Canada. She believes that a thriving artistic and cultural life is vital to community wellbeing.
As a recent newcomer to Powell River she was pleased and surprised to find PRISMA, an international classical music festival in the woods. She looks forward to getting some classical music education while spreading the word and building partnerships for PRISMA.

Director of Operations - Kim Barton Bridges

Kim, her husband and three daughters moved to Powell River in 1998 from Vancouver. Their youngest daughter started university last year, so while they are officially empty-nesters, they remain at the beck and call of their three furry kids. Her volunteer pursuits include positions with the PR Hospice Society and the BC Ferries Advisory Committee for our region. She loves the quiet, coastal lifestyle and the various arts and cultural events for which this community has earned a solid reputation.

Director of Marketing & Multimedia - Andy Rice

Born and raised in Powell River, Andy's lifelong passion for music led him toward a Bachelor of Music degree from Capilano University in 2012. After several years gathering 'street smarts' as an educator, newspaper publisher and touring musician he's become in demand as an arts administrator, juggling his time between Vancouver, Powell River and various Canadian cities through his work with PRISMA, the British Columbia Choral Federation, Canadian Chamber Choir, Townsite Jazz Festival and more!

Admissions/Student Services Coordinator - Lynda Harris

Lynda Harris’s career life began in Toronto where she was assistant principal cellist with the Canadian Opera Company in Toronto and principal cellist with the COC Touring Company in the mid 1970s.  Moving into teaching, she directed a school string program in Alberta for 4 years.  Since 1987 she has taught in a number of schools in Powell River as well as providing cello instruction in her home. She is delighted to now have the time to support and promote PRISMA in an active way.

Office Administrator/Box Office - Crista Whyte

Crista grew up in Powell River, spending her childhood in a little family-owned pet shop called Animal World. She moved on to Vancouver Island and the Okanagan, before finally returning home in 2011. Her extensive retail background includes managerial positions at Whole Foods Market and Indigo Books & Music, and she first joined PRISMA for the 2017 season. In her free time, Crista can be found adventuring the coastline with her two Aussies, Sidney and Tug.

Finance Manager - Kim Stokes

Kim began her career as a bookkeeper in the 1990’s working for her own company. She started working in an accounting firm in 2000, and over the past 18 years, has provided financial services to numerous corporate, individual and charitable clients. Kim has a knack for designing bookkeeping systems to suit the particular organization, and loves to explore ways to make finance more understandable for everyone; she has even been accused of being passionate about it! Kim splits her time between Canada and the Netherlands and writes about her adventures in her travel-blog, Waking Up on the Roof

Production Coordinator - Sandy Cumberland

Sandy is thrilled to be back at PRISMA.  Her career has spanned over 30 years and every province in the country.  From her early days in the dance world (Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Judith Marcuse Dance Company, Universal Ballet of Seoul, Korea) through a stretch of freelance work (Theatre Passe Muraille, Muskoka Festival, Stratford Festival) to many years with Pacific Opera Victoria, she has enjoyed a diverse and exciting career in stage management.  After twelve years based on Gabriola Island, Sandy is happy to be freelancing once again, working with friends, old and new, and overjoyed to be back in beautiful Powell River.

 

 

 

 


Member Liaison - Vanessa Turnbull

A new resident to Powell River, Vanessa Turnbull was drawn to the cultural diversity, natural elements and recreation opportunities found in the area. She was fortunate to be raised to appreciate a wide range of music and arts activities, and looks forward to blending her background in function coordinating, customer service and business administration into her role as PRISMA’s Membership Liaison.

Graphic Design - Nancy de Brouwer

Nancy deBrouwer worked as the Art Director for National Geographic in the Netherlands, prior to coming to Canada where she is the owner and creative director of Massive Graphic. With 20 years of experience, she has a reputation for excellent graphic and web design solutions and an approach that encourages open, collaborative, and respectful partnerships with clients. Nancy is responsible for all graphic design and the development of the PRISMA brand.
