Executive Director - Michelle Hignell

Michelle Hignell is an experienced arts

administrator and event planner, having

organized the Powell River Film Festival

for ten years. Michelle joined PRISMA

in its inaugural season



Student Services Coordinator & Assistant to the Music Director - Megan Gros

In addition to working with PRISMA, 

Megan Gros is the vice-president of the Board

of the Powell River Historical Museum.

Megan has a background in event management, website 

design, and marketing, and is working on completing

a degree in community rehabilitation and

disability studies at the University of Calgary.

Special Events Coordinator - Kim Barton Bridges

Kim, her husband and three daughters moved to Powell River in 1998 

from Vancouver.  Their youngest daughter started university last year,

so while they are officially empty-nesters, they remain at the beck and call

of their three furry kids.  Her volunteer pursuits include positions with the

PR Hospice Society and the BC Ferries Advisory Committee for our region.  

She loves the quiet, coastal lifestyle and the various arts and cultural events

for which this community has earned a solid reputation.


Marketing & Communications Manager - Sarah Barton Bridges

Sarah has been working with PRISMA in a variety of capacities since
its first season. A recent graduate of UBC, she still considers Powell River
home and loves the beautiful coastal getaway it provides. Sarah enjoys
telling PRISMA’s stories through its marketing and communications
(especially its newsletter!) and reaching more audiences far and wide. 




Operations Manager - Caitlin Bryant

Caitlin Bryant is a dedicated arts and culture administrator who believes in the sector's

intrinsic ability to build connected, thriving communities based on celebration  and shared

values. Caitlin's always up for a new challenge and has worked in a  wide variety of disciplines

with in the arts including performing arts, visual arts,  contemporary dance, film, and speaker series.






Volunteer Coordinator - Laura Wilson

A long time visitor to our region, Laura permanently relocated to Powell River with her wife

and young children in the summer of 2015. Her background includes over 15 years of creative

arts and artist management. Her love for the natural beauty of this coastal region is surpassed

only by her passion for the strong social community and its supporting arts and cultural scene.

Laura currently enjoys her work with the PREP Society and the Community Resource Center, and

looks forward to being part of the growing PRISMA team.






Corporate Sponsor Communications & Music Tourism - Kerri Carlson

With more than 12 years experience in event management and 

marketing, Kerri thrives on building community through creative,

strategic, and synergistic collaboration.  







Administrative Support - Sharon Thomas

Sharon Thomas taught chemistry to high school students for several years.  
After obtaining a Ph.D., she worked as a research scientist in both the USA

and Canada.  Her administrative experience stems from her role as

managing director of a pan Canadian scientific research network.

She has been an avid supporter of PRISMA since its inception.



Lead Grant Writer - Janet Newbury

Working with PRISMA is one of the ways Janet stays connected with the community she

lives in and loves.  She is also an adjunct professor at the University of Victoria and

Vancouver Island University.  She deeply enjoys the great outdoors, and getting involved

in the many cultural, artistic, and social offerings of this region.




Graphic Design - Nancy de Brouwer

Nancy deBrouwer worked as the Art Director for National Geographic 

in the Netherlands, prior to coming to Canada where she is the owner

and creative director of Massive Graphic
With 20 years of experience,

she has a reputation for excellent graphic and web design solutions and an

approach that encourages open, collaborative, and respectful partnerships

with clients. 
Nancy is responsible for all graphic design and the development 

of the PRISMA brand.
