Current PRISMA Openings for Paid Positions

The Pacific Region International Summer Music Academy (PRISMA) is a non-profit, charitable society offering a two-week program that prepares music students and young professionals for a career in music performance. PRISMA students work with internationally-renowned artists from the world’s finest symphony orchestras. Featuring chamber music concerts, orchestral concerts, a large open-air community performance and open masterclasses, PRISMA is a summer celebration of timeless music. PRISMA 2017: June 12 - 24

Are you interested in sharing your time and skills to build community? Do you have a passion for arts and culture? PRISMA is looking for help in planning our 5th orchestra academy and festival – be a part of this amazing music event. Semi-retired professionals and people of all ages are encouraged to apply.

Individuals with the following skills and abilities are being sought:

• responsible and trustworthy; respect for confidentiality

• good organization skills

• written and spoken communication skills

• grace under pressure

• strong teamwork and interpersonal skills

• computer skills and experience with some Microsoft Office programs

• knowledge of spreadsheets and Dropbox an asset

• report-writing experience an asset

• experience organizing a festival an asset

Hours are flexible, starting in December/January and peaking in May and June. Applications are now being accepted for the following positions:

Volunteer Coordinator – Help train, schedule and distribute volunteer benefits to our strong team of volunteers. Working with the Executive Director and departmental supervisors, recruit new volunteers with the skills and availability to help out in event and planning areas, including front of house, hospitality, facilities crew and office support. 200 hours total.

Operations ManagerBuilding on PRISMA’s established relationships and systems, keep a handle on the logistical side of putting on the festival events and academy. Supervise a team including box office, transportation & facilities, and special event planning personnel. In partnership with the Executive Director, manage the house at concerts. Experience managing staff required. Experience communicating with venue hosts and tradespeople would be an asset. 300 hours total.
